Spring has sprung here . . . .and with that note, we felt the urgency to share a “winter sewing” project we completed a few months ago.
With the exception of “Easter sewing”, we’ve been in full “destash mode” around here. This dress is no different . . . all supplies were in our “stash” – fabric and buttons!
Fall and winter sewing isn’t nearly as fun as spring and summer sewing.
Although we have a weakness for a good coat or jacket pattern.
Not that we sew them . . . it’s more of a “collection” for now.
We sewed a size 5 of the Children’s Corner, Rose. EA did require additional length in the sleeves and dress length. We added 2″ to the sleeves. The dress was lengthened 2″, in addition to our changing the hem allowance. We made the final hem 1.5″, instead of 2.5″ per the directions. So, she gained 3″ in length total . . .
We have sewn the Rose two other times {HERE and HERE}, but never for EA. Each of the other times, we’ve used a solid corduroy as the main fabric.
We have found that our photo shoots seem to go much better with some distractions. So, EA was kept quite occupied trying to find the birds hidden in her fabric.
Then, when that wore off . . .she decided to make herself some whiskers.
Isn’t that the norm for children this age?
Yup, totally normal! The pink piping works beautifully on this!
She keeps things . . .interesting! All. The. Time!
