Love this! It’s totally my style! Looking forward to this series; we are going to Disneyland in December!
THANKS! Ohhhh, we are so excited for you!! Disney knows how to make it magical for everyone . . .
I love it! Such classic and creative sewing. I sew for my 5 year old gd. And I love the classics but unfortunately her mom only likes trendy. I try to compromise. Keep the posts coming!
Most definitely!! Compromising is sometimes hard . . . especially when it comes to a wardrobe {and time investment} :). We’re fortunate that our sister is extremely agreeable with what we sew, and only seldom voices an opinion or request.
Love it! We went to DisneyLand in December, but you had to wait in line to meet with any characters. It looks like you could just talk to them when you saw them? Fun times! I made a couple of things for the trip. I should blog about those!!
can’t wait to see the rest of the dresses!
Not exactly on the character meets for us . . . there were lines to see the characters. However, the outdoor pictures were taken during the afternoon parade. We went to it on two separate days, and on each day – various characters came up and talked to the girls on route. **It MIGHT have been our favorite part of the trip!! YES, YES, YES . . .please blog about what you made for Disney Land. We’d LOVE to see it . . .
I love the detailing on the books!! Beautiful embroidery!
Thanks Charity!! We BARELY finished this outfit in time . . . I think it was less than 24 hours to spare.
Clever!
Beautiful work as usual!!!
Beautiful work, and such gorgeous pics of girls in the the yellow Ice Cream, and the Sailor suit. I don’t think sailor suits are outdated at all; they can look so fresh and pretty on both sexes, and have the advantage of being easier to get over the head. So lovely to see the nieces having such a lovely time. Looking forward to rest of outfits.
We are having a BUNCH of fun with these posts, so definitely stay tuned :)!
Of the entries in the run and play contest, I thought this one was sweet, modern, and infinitely practical–something that would appeal to girls as well as moms. Don’t let that small percentage of votes get to you! If they had given people the choice of first and second choice, I am willing to bet yours would have been way higher.
Thanks so much for these kind words . . . we were thrilled to be selected as a “top 5 finalist”!! The Project Run and Play sew-alongs are always a great way to mix and mingle with others in the sewing community.
My book lover and I loved this dress so much we had to imitate it. Thanks so much for the inspiration!

WOW!! You are fast!! And, imitation is one of the highest forms of a compliment . . . LOVE the dress you made {swooning over the details of your book spines :}!!
I love this dress! This is one of the most unique disney inspired dresses I’ve come across.
