Moana was ALL. THE. CRAZE. for our nieces prior to going to Disney!
So much so, that Moana landed as CL’s NUMBER TWO request for her “Sewing for Disney” wardrobe.
Again, it might have been the exposed midriff that she was hoping to sport.
Yet again, we disappointed!
Instead, we sewed an Oliver + S, Ruffle Halter Top {size medium} and widened the casing to accommodate the Oliver + S, Jump Rope Dress sash as the tie. This time, we sewed the top without ruffles.
The fabric used for the Oliver + S, Swingset Skirt {size 5} might have been our biggest “fabric find” of our sewing adventure.
The additional stitching in the skirt’s fabric added needed “texture” to the garment.
We altered the skirt’s elastic casing to accommodate the Oliver + S jump rope sash to be used as the tie. Buttonholes were increased to 1 inch, and the elastic pieces were cut at 21″ and 25″ to allow for ease in the hips {due to altered casing}.
While we aren’t finished with our Magic Kingdom “Sewing for Disney“, we have a few countries awaiting our visit in Epcot! So, bear with us as we “park hop” {which, for now, seems a thing of the past} to Epcot for the next three Disney creations. Who knows? These may make you want to visit your nearest travel agent . . .
