When Star Wars is a “niece favorite”, one must brainstorm two completely different looks for a main {favorite} character.
While CL enjoyed her “Leia look” from A New Hope, EA received her own “Leia outfit” – one with a nod to the Ewoks of Endor.
Can’t you just see her on a speed racer?
Zipping through the trees??
Or, at least on an “alien” . . .
While we know Leia’s camouflaged Endor outfit was more of a poncho, we thought our creation might better suit “every day wear” . . . and not be QUITE as hot as the original.
Ummm, the Hollywood Studios day was THE. HOTTEST. DAY. of our entire trip! Not the best scenario for either of our Leia attires.
Thankfully, the excitement of being Leia for the day outweighed the sweltering heat of early May – at least for the majority of the day.
The girls LOVED meeting some favorite Star Wars characters through the course of the day.
As well as some Star Wars life-size figures along the way. . .
Both Leia outfits were sewn using the Love Notions, Origami Tunic {EA’s was sewn as a size 8}. For EA’s look, we used the cowl neck and modified the sleeves to be a bell-shaped, short sleeves.
*Please note: The Love Notions, Origami Tunic is no longer available for sale. However, the Love Notions, Laundry Day Tee might be a viable replacement – although we have never sewn that particular pattern.
The outfit was paired with RTW khaki skinny jeans. Don’t you love how *unbeknownst to us* EA had perfected her “Woody pose”?? {We still giggle at this picture!}
Who would have thought that the perfect camouflage would be difficult to find?? We searched all sorts of online images before landing on this one. And, unfortunately, we cannot remember the online source of it.
EA was as thrilled with her outfit as her younger sister was with hers!
It might have had something to do with her hairstyle for the day . . .taking the outfit up a notch, at least in her eyes. . .
We say: WHATEVER WORKS!
