Oliver + S, Ruffle Halter {in “Fall Fabric”}

Each Fall, we try to sew the girls some outfits in “fall fabric” {aka: orange and blue} . . .to support a certain college football team!

This past year, we started our “fall fabric” sewing a little earlier . . . in the warmer months. . . by sewing EA an Oliver + S, Ruffle Halter in a size large.

Oliver + S, Ruffle Halter

This free pattern is available on Oliver + S, and is one we have sewn in the past {seen HERE}.

The fabric was purchased from Textile Fabrics, and we had been waiting for an opportune time to pull it from the sewing bin.

We made two changes to the free pattern. First, we finished the edges on serger prior to sewing the garment together. We felt this created a more “finished” look and helped the overall appearance of the top. The ruffle halter ended up a tad too long, but we aren’t complaining. Hopefully, that will mean one more football season of wearability!

We also used the Oliver + S, Jump Rope Dress sash as the Ruffle Halter Tie. We felt as if this gave a little more coverage, and the thickness of the tie helped the garment look a little “nicer.”  In order to use the Jump Rope Dress sash, we altered the casing on the top – allowing more room for the tie to fit through the given area.

The girls were able to enjoy a few games this season.

One of the trips included meeting some Auburn gymnasts, and posing for a picture with Sir Charles.

Alright, alright . . . it was just his statue.

Then, Tiger Walk is always a “niece favorite”.

While the girls love high-fiving some of their favorite players, it is always Aubie that steals the show {and their hearts}!

Of course, their fans summed up nicely what each child expected from their time at an Auburn game.

Sometimes we crack ourselves up . . . but they were oh so true!

What did EA think of the Oliver + S, Ruffle Halter? She loved it!

It was nice, cool, and comfortable for those hot summer days.

Interested in other “fall fabric” outfits??  Perhaps THESE will suffice . . .
