Once upon a time, we sewed EA an Oliver + S, Ruffle Halter {a FREE pattern, offered by Oliver + S}. It was in our EARLY sewing days, prior to our blogging. She was such a wee thing, she had no recollection of it.
Until NOW.
We sewed EA another Oliver + S, Ruffle Halter last summer.
Her eyes may have just about popped out of her head!!
She was in L.O.V.E!
It was a perfect top for those sweltering summer days. We modified the pattern SLIGHTLY . . .changing the width of the tie by using the Oliver + S, Jump Rope Dress’ sash pattern piece. This led to our altering the front casing slightly to accommodate the thicker tie.
We liked how the thicker tie gave EA a little more “coverage” on her back, as well as seemed more “age appropriate” that the thinner version.
We bought the fabric from Girl Charlee several years ago, and had pondered over its use for a while now.
SUCCESS!!
She asked / begged us to make some more of this style of top, and was quite disappointed when we put her off . . .
You see, this was nearing the end of last summer and cooler days were ahead.
We assured her that we would make her another one, once warmer weather returned.
And, we have kept that promise {and were met with the same THRILL} . . . but that is for another post, another day :).
