The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go. {Dr. Seuss}
No, our photos were not “staged”. It was easier to ask her to take pictures while reading, than to interrupt the reading for pictures.
She complied, and continued reading away while the pictures were being snapped: A WIN FOR ALL!
We sewed EA the Oliver + S, Family Reunion Dress in a size 7. . . again, using fabric we had accrued in our “stash” and had been hanging on to for entirely too long. Anyway, the fabric transitioned well into the fall months and still looks seasonally appropriate now in the summer.
However, the button accent posed a problem. We just couldn’t land on one that “wowed” us. So, we asked EA. After mulling over the potential buttons, she opted for a dark green one.
We think this button originated in a Joann‘s button box. These are such great boxes of buttons, but unfortunately I cannot find a link for them online. The box reads: Fabric World Button Bargain for Crafts {and contains 10 oz. of buttons}! We typically use a 50% off coupon when we purchase one.
There isn’t a huge investment, and many times there are several buttons that match within one box. It’s always fun to see what the box holds, and what you can use from the box. We have had great luck from these boxes in the past, and have quite a button stash built up from our earlier years of sewing because of them.
EA likes the dress . . .but probably not as well as she did this one many years ago! Sister Momma has put in a request for a “repeat sewing” of it . . .SOMETIME!
Another beautiful dress! The colors look wonderful on EA. As a teacher myself, I love to see her apparent love of reading. I remember the white sheet challenge dresses. Such beautiful nursery rhyme themed embroidery!
She LOVES, LOVES, LOVES reading!! And, yes . . . we really need to make time to sew another “Ring Around the Roses” dress. That might be our sister’s favorite outfit to date. It definitely ranks up there in the top 5.
