We’ve been busy . . . .destashing, prepping / cutting several garments for sewing, and EVENTUALLY – sewing.

And then, after taking {and editing} photos. . . waiting for the words to come for a blog post.

I mean, seriously – LOOK! There are fall leaves on the trees in these photos.

A far cry to what it is now . . .

So, needless to say, the Oliver + S, Playdate Dress was sewn earlier this fall.

We sewed a size 5, with size 6 length. We also added 2″ . . . YES . . .2″ to the sleeve length.

We are still experimenting with EA’s sizing – sometimes sewing her a 5, and sometimes a 6.

She needs the length of a 6 {or even a 7} in both the arms and entire garment, yet can wear a size 5 through the shoulders and chest area for the most part.

Besides the addition of length, we sewed baby pintucks in place of the ruffle on the yoke area. It was an easy change – sewing the pintucks prior to cutting the pattern piece.

We’ve sewn this dress two other times, using a different technique each time {a ruffle and an heirloom technique}.

EA really likes this dress. It actually is generally chosen over the 2nd “secret pocket” dress – given to her the same weekend. That surprised us somewhat . . .

Some longtime followers might recognize the fabric. It is by Thimble Blossoms, and used on CL’s “signature style” for Project Run and Play – many seasons ago. Even as a “destash”, we still LOVE this print!

The colors and print give it a slight, vintage feel. And, we are always suckers for “vintage.”
