Her 1st School Photo Dress {aka: her “secret pocket dress”} was met with such rave reviews for EA, that *of course* we had to make another one for this season.
We sewed the Oliver + S, School Photo Dress in a size 5, with size 6 length. We added two inches to the sleeve length . . .obviously, this child has some L-O-N-G arms.
We decided to make one, using “fall fabric” . . . you know, for those all important “football weekends” in the south.
We played around with the direction of the fabric – trying to create a bit of subtle interest between the sections.
Although we had previously sewn a “fall fabric dress” for EA this season, this creation was intended to be THE dress for the season. The other one “just happened” to work its way into the mix.
And, for this creation, after the combination of the fabric AND pattern choice, well . . . it took us right back to the 60s.
Knee socks were imperative.
EA thought that was pretty funny . . .and warm.
She loved the socks!
Not as much as that “secret pocket” though . . .
NOTHING trumps the “secret pocket” on this pattern. NOTHING!
Did you know the “secret pocket” doubles as fish fins?? YEP!
Add a fish face, and you are set. . .
It definitely livened up the photo shoot!
Not that this niece needs any livening up!! EVER!
That is the cutest dress! Love the neckline! I bet those were adorable school pictures. And I love the socks!
The knee socks slay us . . .STILL! The middle sis, CL, now wants to “knee sock EVERYTHING!”
Oh, she is so fun! Knee socks are perfect with this!
She marches to a beat . . . all her own!
My favorite Oliver + S pattern!
And you’ve made such beautiful creations with it!
