Anyone need some “Spring, sewing inspiration”??
While we are still plugging away with sewing three Easter dresses, we have managed to squeeze in a “quick sew” that celebrates the changing of seasons, and brighter days ahead!!
How can one refuse Liberty knit?? While we LOVE Liberty tana lawn, we had never sewn Liberty knit prior to this venture.
To answer some potential questions you might have . . .
Is it as “buttery” as the lawn?? Most definitely!! Is it “comfort approved” by our niece? Hands down, YES! Where can I purchase some of this loveliness? HERE {psst: It’s on sale too}!
Let’s just say, EA was BEAMING with her wardrobe’s latest addition.
Children’s Corner just completed a sew-along, using the Nora pattern and a modified collar addition.
We followed along, from a distance, before jumping in and completing a version of our own.
We sewed EA a Children’s Corner, Nora in a size 10.
SIZE 10!?!?!? Are you kidding us???
She has room to grow . . . .but needed this size for the length and comfy nature of the design.
As for the additional collar? She loves it, and even mentioned the pattern addition – without prodding.
The truth about the collar: We goofed . . .and cut it using the measurements for the smaller sizes – instead of the larger ones.
Sooooo, we think the correct collar size would only improve the entire look of the outfit! And, with the method of construction, one could easily sew an asymmetrical collar to mix it up a bit.
Charming collar on this frock- so suitable for warm weather, and EA’s age group. Hope the girls doing well without their school mates.
