To conclude the Disney PRINCESS “take 2″ / repeats, we sewed another “Belle dress.” During our first “Sewing for Disney”, Belle stole the show {for us, at least}! We LOVED the thought process of creating the titles of books that accented the Oliver + S, Ice Cream Dress.
This time, instead of EA, CL requested a “Belle dress” in her “top 5″ list. We REALLY, REALLY, REALLY wanted to make an exact replica of the original, but opted to use the same design – but with a different pattern, and using different colors.
The verdict? We liked our first interpretation better than this one.
We sewed a Children’s Corner, Jacqueline in a size 7 – opting to use blue as the main fabric. Sort of like Belle’s original outfit from the movie . . .not her classic, yellow one.
Then, we added the same book details as last time, using our friend – heat n’ bond {affiliate link}.

Overall, this dress was too large for CL.
Comfy . . .but, big!
Don’t despair – this is only the beginning of our latest “Sewing for Disney”.
In fact, our next post will feature a repeat of CL’s FAVORITE Disney outfit of the last trip . . . only sewn with slight color variations {she even picked the fabric out for it}.
Do you recall what she loved?? HINT: she was in RARE form for those photos {as well as in the ones to come}.
Still makes us chuckle.
I also had that problem with the Jacqueline. I had to buy more fabric and start over on the Easter dress. But, too big is always better than too small……. Your dresses are both wonderful, and I love that both girls like the reader-princess. 😉
Too big is ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS better! She should be able to enjoy wearing it this spring and summer. Thanks for your kind words, and we concur a princess that reads is the best kind of princess :)!
