Hi, my name is EA. I am very excited to have an opportunity to write to all of you on this blog. As you can see down below, I am very excited. That picture was taken last fall!
I am 9 years old, and when I’m out of school, I like to work in our garden. I really thought the sunflowers would take a long time to grow – but they didn’t!
I also like to study science – especially space! I plan to work at NASA when I grow up. I want to be one of the first women to go to Mars. Together, our team can do it!
I like to play my violin. I play a piece called Bach double. It’s a piece you have to play with two violins. I have played the violin for 5 years! My two younger sisters play too.
Another activity I like is tennis. I like it because my teacher is very nice, and because it is a very fun sport. My favorite swing is a forehand. Forehands are fun!
Golf is another sport I like. You have to aim the ball very carefully at the hole! My favorite club is the driver. I like it because you can hit very long shots!
Splash! My Mom says I swim like a fish. That is why I do swim team. My favorite strokes are the breast stroke and free style. I have been doing swim team for three years. Wow!
Whoosh! She sticks it! I just finished my bar station. I love gymnastics! Bar and floor are my favorite events. I am working on my double back handspring. It is fun.
To me, art is really cool. You can make blank white sheets of paper come to life! I especially like watercolor pencils. You color with the watercolor pencil then take a paint brush with plain water and paint over the pencil. It’s so fun!
I love geography and would like to know where you are reading from . . . I hope to hear from you, and share again with you soon! Thank you!
My aunts used the pattern, Oliver + S, Playtime Tunic {size 8, no length added to the hem but added an additional 1.5″ to the sleeve}.
So fun!!!
from EA: Thanks!
What a fun post you made, and I love your tunics. Please write again sometime!!!
from EA: Okay, I’ll try!
Hi EA.
Goodness, you a very busy young lady!
You are also beautiful & smart & talented!
For your geography project, I am from NW Arkansas, so of course I root for the Hogs! Woo Pig Sooie! LOL
I very much enjoyed reading your post & hope to see you back on here again soon.
Best Wishes, Elizabeth
from EA: Thanks for sharing with me.
Hi EA!
You are a very busy girl with a great variety of interests! I’ve enjoyed seeing the lovely outfits made for you and your personal favorites. I hope you can add sewing to your list of activities soon.
from EA: I have sewn just a little, and I would like to sew a top soon.
EA. , I’m a long time fan of yours! I love you and your posts and of course your fab aunts !!!!!!!
from EA: Thanks a bunch!
Hi EA! I love all the outfits and love hearing about your many activities. My daughter Julia is 10 and almost as busy as you. She plays bass, tennis, basketball, and takes 5 dance classes. Maybe you guys can hang out sometime, and we can all talk about sewing!
from EA: What fun! What kind of dance does your daughter take?
Wow!! You are such a well rounded young lady. Thank you for sharing a little about yourself. I am from Raleigh, NC
from EA: You’re welcome!
EA, I have been watching you grow up for years through your aunts’ sewing blog. Wow! You are a very busy girl. I like that you are interested in so many diverse things…art, music, sports, science, and also writing. I am pretty sure you are also a great big sister and helper in your family. I hope you will write again some time. I live in Brentwood, TN.
from EA: I hope to again!
Hi EA,
I’m reading from Boulder, Colorado. Science was my favorite subject in school too, and now I’m a scientist and I love it. I don’t work for NASA, but I think that would be a super cool place to work. One of the people who worked at the building across the street from me started as a NOAA Corps and is now an astronaut on the International Space Station. Her name is Christina Koch and she was part of the first all-female space walk last October!
I also love the Bach Double and impressed that you can play it already!
from EA: Thanks for the neat story! Do you play the violin?
Dear EA,
I’m reading from Monroe, Oregon. You have so many fun interests and talents! My oldest daughter is 8 and I’ve been reading your aunts’ blog since I started sewing for her when she was one. Thank you for contributing! I love the tunics, especially the fabric choices. Did you pick them out?
from EA: Not these . . . but I’ve picked out fabric at other times.
Hey there! Loved this post and hearing about your very busy days! I’m from London, Ontario, Canada but I grew up in Birmingham Alabama. Sorry but I’m rooting for the Crimson Tide. One of my family friends was such a big Auburn fan that he always answered his phone “WAR EAGLE!” He also had two dogs he named War and Eagle so he would be able to shout ‘War Eagle’ out the door.
One time, he came to visit us and my whole family, about 10 people, all dressed in red and white to meet him at the airport just to make him crazy with our Bama colors. It worked! But we looked like we were in some weird kind of singing group or something, and people were looking at us funny!
I like music too and I do horseback riding.
I love seeing the great clothes your aunts make for you and your sisters. Hope you will post again sometime!
from EA: That’s funny! I like his idea about the dogs’ names! Horses are my favorite animal, and I’d like to take horseback lessons someday too.
Hello EA! I am from Knoxville, TN. Thank you for telling us all about yourself!
from EA: Awesome, Allison!
Hi EA!
You look beautiful in all 3. Aren’t your aunts clever? You have so many hobbies and do so many activities, what wonderful fun! I’m from England xxx
from EA: What is your favorite landmark in England? Also, thank you!
Wonderful article! I am writing from Mississippi. I have a daughter named Evelyn one year younger than you, and she can’t wait to start violin at her school next year. It’s all she talks about but they can’t begin until the 3rd grade. She also plays tennis and loves nothing more than to plant seeds each Spring. I’ll be sure to tell her about how fast sunflowers grow! We loved reading your blog post, I’ve been following along as your aunts sew for you and your sisters for years. They give me great ideas for outfits for my own three kids. Do you sew too? Evelyn got a machine for Christmas and we have enjoyed working our way through a few pattern books made especially for kids.
Just wanted to leave a note to let you know you did such a great job!
Elizabeth Luckett
from EA: I’d like to know the pattern book for kids! Maybe I can sew some patterns. I DO sew! Also, thank you!
Wow, I’m impressed with all of the activities you participate in and that you want to work at NASA when you grow up!
I have followed your aunts through all of the clothes they’ve made for you. I used to sew for my great niece who is 13, but she outgrew the Oliver & S patterns. Like you she plays the violin and loves science. Now I sew for her 3 year old sister.
I live on Anderson Island in South Puget Sound in Washington state. If I want to go shopping, visit with friends, go to the movies, or volunteer, I have to take a 20 minute ferry ride to Steilacoom. While on the ferry I’ve seen Orca Whales, Dall’s Porpoises and seals. I never tire of the ferry ride.
