This was one of those “work in progress” {WIP} projects – for entirely too long!
We actually envisioned sewing the Ellen McCarn angel sleeve bishop when EA was a mere toddler, perhaps age two. Fast forward seven years later . . .yep. SEVEN YEARS!
Needless to say, sewing the garment for EA was OUT!!
As well as sewing it for CL.
Goodness!
If this outfit was going to be completed for a niece, LG was our last resort!!
Ashley {frances} smocked it, and then we took another one of those “shortcuts” and paid for someone else to put it together.
Time was of the essence . . .
and we couldn’t veer off to some other sewing projects.
The dress is the Ellen McCarn, Angel Sleeve Bishop, sewn as a size 5.
LG has always been “funny” about dresses that button down the front – ie, they are not her favorite, and she tends to argue with anyone that will listen on what is the front and back of the garment.
Ultimately, we are glad to check this WIP off our to do list.
And all things considered, our youngest niece is too!!
Happy to see that this child has been getting some dresses made for her. Looks like she feels the same!
Absolutely! Although, more often than not, she is just as thrilled about receiving her sisters’ handmade-me-downs . . .
