NAILED IT!! Well, almost . . .
We finished sewing this sweet Children’s Corner, Hillary {an out of print pattern} right at the end of the season last year.
Let us type that again . . . RIGHT. AT. THE. END.
She never wore it {or even knew it existed} until late this spring.
Fortunately for us, clothes are a bit more forgiving at her age than a toddler.
We sewed the Hillary in a size 7 {view A}, not adding any length to the dress – due to a 4″ hem. Instead, we lessened the hem length to a 2″ hem .
In addition, we took 3/4″ off the sleeve’s fold line to create a narrower sleeve.
Goodness, she loves this dress. Maybe it is because she currently doesn’t have many dress options in her closet.
Still, she has all the HEARTS for this one.
{Completely her idea for the photo below . . .}
In fact, she has already requested another one . . .”just like it” . . .but, in a thicker fabric {so she won’t need a slip with it}.
Remember how we said we “NAILED IT”!?!? The fabric weight would be the only thing from making this dress “a perfect 10″ in EA’s book.
This is a favorite pattern of mine! It is such a classic look. I only have the pattern in the small size range and never thought of getting it for bigger girls. It looks great on EA!
Thanks so much!!
I always love piping, and I like the use of different kinds on the neck and yoke of this one. Nice!
Thanks so much! We wish it had been a little larger cording, but were pleased that EA loved it so much.
