The Children’s Corner, Kaki is a wonderful “beginner pattern” for those that are beginning to sew with knits.
Let’s just say: Knits aren’t our forte!
In fact, we dread sewing with knits . . .
Although our nieces LOVE them.
And the care of knits is . . .well . . . spectacular!
We are warming up to them, but they will never be our “go to” fabric of choice – if the decision were completely up to us.
Last summer, we sewed two, size 7 Kakis.
We added 1.5″ to each dress’ length.
The additional length was COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY.
It, again, made the length somewhat “awkward” for EA.
She loves a long dress, so she didn’t mind the extra length.
This pattern is so loved by our nieces – for both the summer and winter season. We find ourselves having to “embrace the knits” or be left in the sewing dust . . .
You can see our other versions of the Kaki HERE {3/4 length sleeves} and HERE {sleeveless}
