So, we’ve been destashing our fabric . . .
And, recently we’ve had a little problem.
You see, we have LOTS of 1 yard pieces of fabric, yet our growing nieces are sizing out of 1 yard cuts.
P.R.O.B.L.E.M.
No worries!!
The Oliver + S, Picnic Blouse was just what these destashers needed.
BEWARE . . .we sewed more than two . . .
To begin, we sewed a size 6 Oliver + S, Picnic Blouse in a plaid fabric.
We added 1″ to the skirt portion and 2″ to the sleeve length.
This fabric was part of some winnings from Shorts on the Line {a contest we participated in YEARS ago}.
Anyway, we put it to good use . . .and were pleased with the outcome.
Goodness. This blouse is PERFECT for the fall. And, if you are like us, you may struggle with finding those good fall / winter patterns to sew. We get stuck on our “regulars” and seldom branch out with others.
So, take note: The Picnic Blouse is one to consider for small yardage and fall / winter sewing. . .
Love it! The using up of small cuts, the pattern choice, the final garment and the excellent photoshoot! Bravo.
Awww, thanks!! It fit all of our needs :).
Welcome back! I always find your sewing so inspring – now I *need* to make this pattern for my baby!
Wonderful!! We are so glad to be back too . . . and are anxious to share some of our latest sewing with our readers!
I love it!!! I need to whip up a few of these. This is one of my favorite patterns ever!
Definitely!! Our nieces wear these ALL. THE. TIME. {in the Fall months} . . .
