We have wanted to sew this dress for a LONG TIME!!
However, time and time again . . .something was pushed in front of it. . . we couldn’t decided on the fabric . . .etc. etc.
After going to the 1st Farmhouse Fabrics tent sale, we had so much fabric . . .we had NO EXCUSE but to sew a Mallory using some of it.
The Children’s Corner, Mallory {a discontinued pattern from Children’s Corner} is a super sweet dress. The three accent buttons on the front yoke and the pleated skirt were what drew us in on sewing this pattern.
Then, there was the back of the dress.
BUTTONS. BUTTONS. BUTTONS.
Don’t get us wrong . . . we like buttons! But there were A. LOT.
We sewed a size 7, and added 2.5 inches to the length. This gave EA a finished length of 29.75″ from the shoulder to the hem.
This addition was a little too much, and one we considered “awkward length” for last spring. However, this spring it has {thankfully} worked well!
These aunts never complain about a garment’s wearability lasting longer!
I saw your Mallory dress you made using the pattern from Childrens Corner. I am desperate do you know where I might be able to find a copy of this pattern? It is OOP and I have had no luck. Any help you could suggest would be much appreciated.
Your dress is beautiful!
Thanks!

There are several Facebook groups that sell OOP Children’s Corner patterns, as well as many of them have an ISO folder where you can add what you are looking for. Some groups are: Destash Heirloom, Smocking, sewing Magazine, books, patterns; Sew Classic for Children or even the Children’s Corner Pattern Group. I hope this helps – often there are lots of great resources in these groups! GOOD LUCK!
