This spring, we were consumed.
Consumed by Easter sewing . . . for all three nieces.
Two dresses made the Easter “deadline”. One did not.
This dress WAS completed by Easter {along with her older sister’s dress}.
And, believe it or not, pictures were taken Easter weekend.
It just wasn’t blogged about . . . until now.
Trudy Horne‘s shoulder-button bishop may be our favorite bishop pattern of all time!
We have sewn a few baby gifts using it, and CL was a recipient of another shoulder-button bishop a few years ago. It’s a good, classic bishop that we rely on – time and time again.
You see, we had been working on this dress for a while.
And, thankfully, bishops are forgiving!!
So, although the cabbage roses slowed down our completion – CL still has ample room to grow in this dress.
We are crossing our fingers that she will have another “wearable year” in this dress!!
We prefer peach to pink fabric, and this fabric is the palest of the pale peaches.
If we knew the precise fabric type and distributor, we might just buy a bolt of this stuff.
It is THAT good!!
CL, true to form, was as appreciative as ever!!
She loves when we sew clothes for her . . . especially when they are not passed down from her sister {although she loves those too}.
As for our plans to sew three heirloom dresses for Easter next year?
THAT is still up for debate!
Absolutely stunning! CL looks like an angel! I am sure that she will get another year out of it. When I made Victoria-Rose her Bishop dresses we always got two years of wear. I love how precious CL is about you making her things. The sleeves are particularly beaitiful!
That is a lovely dress! Love smocked, dresses and especially bishops ones. Love the color
That is so beautiful! I love the pale peach, the delicate sleeves, and the dainty embroidery- well done!
