Children’s Corner has released another pattern: Ginger.
This is a sweet, sleeveless sundress . . . perfect for the summer.
The pattern is divided into two size ranges: 6 months – 6 years and 7 – 14 years.
A ruffle around the neckline and placket area adds texture to the garment. And, while we aren’t typically “ruffle people” . . . this addition is subtle and sweet. We opted to sew a ruffle using the same fabric, instead of using a contrasting one.
The pattern also gives the option to line the entire dress, or only the bodice area.
We sewed EA a size 6.
Children’s Corner patterns are typically very “true to size” for our nieces – taking the thought out of any changes we might have to make.
These patterns are printed on tissue paper, and the pattern pieces / sizes are unnested. This is a huge perk – making it much easier when prepping a pattern for sewing!
This project, once again, was a “stash bust” . . .
We know, we know . . . when will it ever end?!?!?!
Still, this sweet print seemed to be the perfect fit for such a dainty dress.
** Please note: The Children’s Corner, Ginger was given to us for pattern testing purposes, but as always everything written is our honest opinions. And, if you are interested in seeing another Ginger sewn . . . check out Ana Sofia’s post about her experience with this pattern!
And while this dress DID make EA smile . . .she was primarily showing off her toothless grin {her latest loss happening less than an hour before photos}. That’s a sure way to get some grins!!
That fabric is so pretty! Perfect for this pattern… and I love the ruffles in the same fabric.
Thanks, Charity! It’s a good summer sundress. The next time we sew it, we don’t plan to line the skirt portion . . .
