Every once in a while, it’s nice to “think outside of the box” . . .
Well, the “Frances Suzanne Sewing Box”, so to speak!
And what better way to do it than with an argyle-esque pair of leggings?!?!
Am I right?
We just KNEW this Playtime Tunic would be EA’s favorite of the Playtimes {see her first: HERE} sewn this season. HANDS DOWN.
We had this sewing project “in the bag” . . . ummmm, or should we say, “IN THE POCKETS!”
It has become her “third favorite” . . . of the three sewn.
Thankfully, she likes all three of them . . . so, all is not lost!
We sewed a size 6, Oliver + S, Playtime Tunic and Leggings while adding 1.5″ to the tunic hem and .5″ additional length to the sleeves. The leggings were lengthened by 1″ as well.
And this, is EA showing all you “faithful readers” the length of her tunic – don’t mind how she is bending over, etc. to get to that length. She thought this was pertinent information to pass along! At least it kept her entertained during the photoshoot . . .
The tunic is a knit fleece, so it is quite warm for an active child . . . in the south. Note to selves: due to the thickness of the knit, we should have lengthened the sleeves a tad bit more. It just doesn’t drape as well as the thinner knit used on her latest floral creation.
Goodness . . . Aren’t these buttons fun?? And unique??
We found these cuties in a Joann’s button box – and had enough that matched to use on this creation! But, we digress!
Obviously, our “Love of the Playtimes” continue . . . all while stash-busting.
A WIN-WIN at its finest . . .
hahahaha she did a fab job demonstrating the length of her new tunic What a fun set! Love the colours
Thanks Jenya!! Yeah . . . she keeps us laughing!!
I love seeing this pattern ina knit, especially since my girls won’t wear anything else lately. Do you use any special stitches or techniques for the knit fabric?
Hmmm, have you checked out mellysews.com? I believe she had a series on sewing with knits . . .and maybe even included some videos with the posts.
I like the idea of sewing this up in a cozy thicker fabric! It turned out darling.
Thanks Charity! Yes, we were a bit jealous of the selected {cozy} fabric. . .
