Ahhhh, the Oliver + S, Playtime Tunic and Leggings!!
Such a “staple sew” during the fall / winter / spring months!!
Be warned: there will be SEVERAL of these outfits in the upcoming posts . . . .yet each one takes on a completely different look, due to the fabric {ie: STASH} selection used.
As it is for many sewists, it seems the oldest child always reaps the reward of “new clothes”. . .
Younger siblings receive the 2nds . . .and, in our nieces’ case, 3rds.
Still, although the Playtime is a go-to pattern for us, CL had NONE in her current size . . . .she had a few size 3s and some size 5s, but no straight up 4s. This style is so loved by our nieces {and Sister Momma} that CL was actually wearing the size 5 garments, although they were still a bit big.
We sewed CL the Oliver + S, Playtime Tunic and Leggings: size 4, with an additional 1.5″ length added to the navy leggings.
CL’s personality lends itself to bright, bold polka dots. So, this stash bust was easy!!
And, then – we found the PERFECT buttons in our button stash – WHOOP, WHOOP!
It was meant to be . . .
CL was an “empowered princess” with her new attire. To the point, she was asked . . .”What are you doing?”
Okay, okay . . .she *might be* a tad obsessed with Princess Leia, and kept showcasing her “blaster” during the photo shoot.
Still, she always hid it away when asked.
Just wait until you see her other “princess move” she decided to use in the next playtime tunic photoshoot . . . .
That child!!
What a sweetheart! The tunic is cute too>
Thanks, TerriSue! She IS a sweetheart . . .more often than not!
I have some colorful dotted fabric in the wings for my second girl too. =)
Those buttons really are perfect for this!
Thanks Charity!! How can a child NOT like big, bold polka dots?!?! We thought this sew was pretty safe!
