Sewing for Disney: Snow White

Let’s start at the very beginning . . .of the Disney princesses, that is. . .

Sewing for Disney: Snow White {O+S, Swingset Pattern}

Snow White: the first {movie} Disney Princess . . .

And, one that stole one girl’s heart in the movie . . . as well as in person!

The first time the girls saw the movie, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, they laughed more than all other Disney movies “first showings” combined!

While CL claims her favorite “Princess” is Queen Elsa, her actions speak otherwise.

SNOW WHITE . . . all the way! These two were seen making hearts at one another during Rope Drop one morning {yet another magical memory}! It’s fair to say, CL loves her some Snow White!

We sewed an Oliver + S, Swingset Tunic and Skirt {sz 3} – using Snow White’s colors throughout.

The tunic was navy, with a pop of red piping and red buttons {just like those pesky apples} on the back.

For the skirt, we used a a solid yellow for the main skirt . . . a white for the lining {like Snow’s petticoat} . . . and a red tie, to incorporate our accent color on both the tunic and skirt!

Now, for the fun!

When one dresses like a certain character at Disney World, that character might just notice!!

On our first day at the Magic Kingdom, we had “Fast Passed” the Festival of Fantasy Parade – giving us a good location to view the parade, characters, etc. and really inundate the girls with Disney . . .and the fun we had to look forward to over the next few days.

This parade didn’t disappoint!! The girls could have watched it daily!! {And in the photo above, CL was CONVINCED that I could take a picture with Tinkerbell in her hand, like the Disney photographers could do!}

Then, the girls saw the dwarfs coming down the road. And Sleepy noticed something . . .

And, brought Snow White to take a closer look!

Lots of giggling, and moments later . . . Snow White went on her way {but not before leaving SOMETHING behind}.

We did view the parade another time – without a “fast pass”, and with both viewings had WONDERFUL character interactions along the route.

Maybe it was luck.

Or, maybe it was because we waved at everything that moved for a solid 15 minutes.

Who knows??

One thing’s for sure: MEMORIES WERE MADE, folks!

I just wanted to say how much I LOVE these sewing for disney posts. They have been the highlight of my day whenever a new one pops up! Such fantastic ideas and so much thought has gone into every outfit. I love how the disney characters have been noticing as well. Beautiful clothes for beautiful girls :)

    Thanks so much, Joanna! It tickles us to read that others are enjoying our “fun” in the creative process and design for our nieces’ Disney clothes!!
