What’s a project without stretching your limits a bit? Am I right?
We have admired the many enlarged animal graphic t-shirts from mini Boden . . . season in and season out.
So, we decided it give it a try . . . .using an enlarged Disney character as our base for our “Sewing for Disney: Rapunzel” outfit.
PASCAL: Rapunzel’s friend and protective sidekick.
We sewed an Oliver + S, Popover Sundress {it’s FREE, people . . .go get yours HERE} as a tunic and paired it with the Oliver + S, Class Picnic Shorts.
This was our first time to sew the Class Picnic Shorts, and already have plans to make more for the summer.
Using the Pascal image found HERE, we printed it on Sulky Solvy Stabilizer and placed it on green fabric. Then, using a lime thread, we machine stitched around the body of Pascal. Hand embroidery, using the same color, was done along his ridged back and circles above his eyes.
Finally, eyes were made from white fabric circle, slightly smaller brown fabric circles, and a black satin stitch for the pupil of each eye.
Then, snipping as close to the machine stitched line as possible, we trimmed off the excess green fabric and positioned Pascal on the main {pink} fabric for the Popover Tunic.
We placed the image in the seam just a bit, for variety’s sake, and held it in place using wonder tape.
Pascal was then stitched again around his entire body – securing him onto the main fabric.
Ohhhh, and in case you were wondering . . . YES, Rapunzel noticed {and they had to do a little search for the “real Pascal” behind the curtains, but to no avail}.
Still, it is safe to say that Pascal was “Rapunzel Approved!”
While the addition of Pascal added multiple steps to this outfit, we felt like the end result was worth it!
A spunky little chameleon for a spunky middle child . . .
And, now it has left us dreaming of other “enlarged animal graphics” for future projects.

This is my favorite one yet!!!!
Awww, thanks!
I have so enjoyed seeing all the precious Disney outfits you two made for the girls! Disney may want to hire you both very soon. Van
Thanks Van! We need to get together and rehash our trips soon!
CUUUUUUUTE!
Oh, that is so CUTE! I would say that was definitely worth the extra time! CL looks particularly sweet in that shade of pink. I like that the green is carried down to the shorts and up to the ric-rac too.
The best thing about that pink fabric was it was fairly wrinkle resistant {and super soft!}!
