What happens when a niece decides she doesn’t like the jeans sewn for her??
Involve her in the coordination of a top to go with it, of course.
And, since we KNEW she loved her sister’s Bimaa, we opted to sew EA her first Bimaa {size 4, with size 5 length }. *Note to selves: added length wasn’t necessary.
Her part was to select the fabric for the Bimaa. We raided our stash and gave her three options {that we didn’t think we’d go wrong with any of them….although some were more our ‘style’ than others}.
We thought we knew the one she would pick. True to form, the bold flowers were too much to pass up for this 4 year old! Thank you, Project Run and Play and Low Price Fabrics for this number!!
She’s IN. LOVE.
Absolutely GIDDY!
*Please note: When a “snarl smile” appears, it is a REALLY GOOD THING in someone’s eyes…
It was perfect for hunting wolves, bears, and even snakes {in trees, mind you!}. Doesn’t someone look FIERCE?!?!?
Bravery is in the eyes of the beholder, and the one with the “big stick!”
Or, a “flashlight” {aka: a pine branch}…
And, when an aunt howls like the wolves….well, it’s all over!!
No need to worry about her wearing her jeans any more!! Thankfully too, because these are to be a “staple” for her winter wardrobe….
The top and the niece are both gorgeous! I think the upsized bimaa add-on is going to be my first purchase of the new year. My 8 year old has already outgrown the one I made this fall, and it is her favorite top. I hope it will have the same magic power to make her love her jeans, too!
Thanks for mentioning the ADD ON to the pattern….we discussed putting it in the post, and then completely forgot to do so! Let us know if the Bimaa has the same effect for your 8 year old…. EA is smitten with her outfit {including her jeans} now!!
this is amazing! i love it! seriously, if you guys want to be the aunts of my kids, that would be awesome!!! 😉
HA!!! THANKS! We are already slighting “Baby LG” too much as is….. and, our creativity lags in comparison to yours!! Our clothes would be too boring for your trendy kiddos…
Gotta love the Bimaa…and how did I miss a Bimaa add-on?? I need to look into that!
Yes, yes, yes!! We are so glad that Carrie mentioned the add on…. We thought of it, and then completely forgot about it before publishing the post…
We’ve only made one Bimaa so far too, but love it! Well actually, I used the cowl from the largest size Bimaa to add on to the neckline of one of my shirts…
Love her fabric choice and your work as usual!
Thanks, Audrey!! It’s such a fun pattern….and one that is hard to resist in the fall/winter months.
She is SO CUTE! This top looks like it fits her personality! I’m really impressed with the jeans… those look really professional.
Thanks, Charity! The “jeans” were BASIC….we aren’t talking the Small Fry Skinny Jeans or anything as detailed as that. Still, it gives the effect of “real jeans” {or so we’d like to think}.
Oooopps – totally forgot I own this pattern! It’s adorable on your niece – she’s looking so much older!
Well, we are glad to be a part of that reminder for you!!! :). Now, go sew…..
Love, Love, Love the bright flowered Bimaa! She has excellent taste.;)
“Go BOLD, or Go HOME!” We have a feeling more bright colors are in our sewing future with this one…
My favourite, a Bimaa! Love it with these flowers and she looks really happy in it!
oh my!! I love the whole outfit! That top is amazing!! Looks so comfy… someday… if I have a girl ;o)
Love the print. The top is adorable! When did she become so grown up?
Clever aunties to the rescue and I love the snarl smile. I get those too
You are so clever! She looks amazing in that bright colored Bimaa (and jeans)!
