Well. . .I don’t know about you, but we are gearing up to participate in our first ever Kids’ Clothes Week Challenge {kcwc} hosted by Meg of elsie marley! The premise of kcwc is to sew for at least an hour a day for an entire week, then post your creations in the flickr group and/or blog about them. Fun, fun stuff! While sewing for at least an hour a day isn’t out of the ordinary for us, being a part of a sewing community, seeing others’ creations, and generating countless ideas/sewing schemes during the course of the week is what truly makes this exciting!
We’ve finished pretty much all of the clothing from when we sharpened our scissors last time, plus five weeks of project run and play sew-along entries (Very Biased Skirt Remix, Fashion Icon Week, White Sheet Challenge Part I, White Sheet Challenge Part II, Holiday Wear Challenge, and Signature Style), so it’s time to get busy cutting in preparation for next week AND the nieces’ fall wardrobes! There’s just something refreshing about completing projects and starting new ones….
If you’ve followed our blog for any amount of time, you will quickly realize that if we only sewed for an hour a day, we wouldn’t have much to show for our efforts. We are S.L.O.W. So, we’ve hashed and rehashed our goals for the week, in an effort to be as productive as possible. Ultimately, we’ll probably just stick to our “to do” list and maybe shuffle it a tad. We plan on posting short blog posts with pictures, but minus our adorable models (aunts can say that and get away with it, right?). . .since they live an hour away. Sad. Sad. Then, hopefully blog about each completed project in more detail later – with cute pictures. We’ll see.
