Children’s Corner Store has done it again!
The newest pattern, Kaki, has our niece jumping for joy {and not wanting to take off the garment}.
Kaki is a knit dress with an interchangeable pleated or gathered skirt that fall above the knee. VIEW A has three-quarter sleeves finished with a decorative cuff and has an easy-to-make neckband. VIEW B is a sleeveless sundress with the neck and armholes finished with a wrap-around binding technique. It has two size options: 6 months – 6 years OR sizes 7 – 14.
As for these aunts, this dress constitutes as a “doable” knit sew . . . and that is saying something for us!
The fit? Spot on.
As always. {Check out those armholes}
Thank you, Children’s Corner patterns.
We sewed the size 6, sleeveless version {view B} with a pleated skirt {view A}. We added 1″ to the skirt length to give EA a little more “growing room”.
The pattern was easy to follow, and sewed up like a dream – Art Gallery knits tend to do that . . .
EA actually picked out her fabric for this creation, so she was “invested” in the look. She didn’t have any idea what we were making with it . . . but was asked to select her fabric nonetheless.
She did well with her fabric selection!!
Proud. Aunt. Moment.
This dress was such the hit this summer, we have plans for two more Kaki dresses on our Fall/Winter sewing list.
And, yes, when EA heard of our future sewing plans – we got the “nose scrunch grin”. SUCCESS!
