When one goes to the beach, one must make time to shop . . . for fabric, of course.
Since we are in the midst of destashing our fabric, we knew we couldn’t break the bank on this “shopping trip.”
The sure fire way to stay in check?
Why, invite the nieces along . . .
One {CL} took us up on the invitation – and was “allowed” to pick out fabric of her choice for us to sew something for her.
Okay . . . she liked EVERYTHING {and admitted that very thing after we left the store}! Yet, always came back to “her pink fabric”.
And, even became annoyed that we weren’t walking around the store with that particular bolt. . .
“Her bolt” . . . and one she was worried that someone might snatch before our very eyes.
The child was OVER. THE. MOON {!!!} with this purchase.
When we returned to the car, she wanted to hold the bag, touch the fabric, talk about “her fabric”, etc.
When we returned to the condo, she had to perform “show and tell” while draping the fabric around herself.
We sewed the Oliver + S, Lazy Days Skirt – a free, PDF pattern. The only thing that slowed us down was finding a trim to match CL’s selection.
While we would like to blame CL for the silver, glittery trim selected, that is not the case! In our defense, that was the only option . . .after looking at a few stores.
If we were betting people, we might bet on having THREE NIECES accompany us on our next fabric shopping adventure. . . Oh, help us all!!
I just bought fabric at the beach too while trying to only sew from my stash!
Vacations call for a little splurge . . .or so we like to think :). And what better way to splurge than with fabric?
Little girls loooove their pink, don’t they?! And the added sparkle probably made CL’s whole week!
HA! She was pretty “over the moon” with this garment. . .the thought of it, and then the actual completed look.
