Flashback Sewing: A Holly, Jolly Shadow Embroidered Dress

Well, we had to squeeze in one more “Flashback Sewing” post before
THE big day: December 25, Christmas Day!
Presenting: The Holly, Jolly Shadow Embroidered Dress.
Using the book, Precious Baby Daygowns: Square Yoke Collection {Martha Pullen Publication: Sew Beautiful}, we mixed and matched pattern pieces within the book to create this dress.

The peter pan collar was accented by adding red trim around the curved edge.
Sleeve cuffs were also detailed with this same red trim.
As a finishing touch, and one that created a unique feature to the dress,
we shadow-embroidered holly leaves on the the two front yoke sections.
As for the pictures, who needs a human distraction when CL hones into a pinecone?!?!
Works like a charm every time, and completely mesmerizes her {as seen here}….
Note to self: check out BOTH sides of the shrub next time…..the opposite side was filled with holly leaves!  Oooops!! Oh well….the greenery made a nice contrast, right??
Merry Christmas, one and all!
We hope your Christmas is a joyous one….full of delightful memories {past and present}!
