December “Flip this Pattern”: WINNERS ANNOUNCED

We must ask, “are we having fun yet?!?!”
We are in the second half of the “Flip this Pattern” series…..and, it’s still a lot of fun!
Three fantastic guest contributors {Jo, Sally, and Suzanne} and some sew-along creations showed the endless possibilities for sewing the Shwin Designs, #9 Trousers.

Wow, at the inspiration popping up all over the blogging community!!

We gave our dad the month “off” from choosing “Father’s Fantastic Five” from the sew-along entries! He hopes to return in 2014 to select some more of his favorites each and every month for the remainder of the series!!

As for the other winners?!?! Participating bloggers in the sew-along entries didn’t make it easy for the judges!!

We asked our panel of judges to judge these entries based on the following factors:
Creativity / Originality of Design
Quality of the garment sewn
Wearability
Overall appeal of the outfit
*Some of these participants included tutorials for their “flip,” but again – this wasn’t a prerequisite for entering. VERY HELPFUL {and generous of them}, but not a necessity!
The sew-along winner was Angie of Edith and Eloise with her Corduroy Boyfriend Trousers.

The judges stated:

*I’m a sucker for corduroy, but the adjustable waistband that ties into a bow is ingenious and darling! They’re like business casual drawstring pants…
*
These are so adorable! You had me at the bow! I love the polka dot lining and how they slim down at the ankle! Very modern twist on an already cute pant!
* Great fit. Like the sash through the buttonhole.
Congratulations, Angie! Grab your button, and display it proudly on your site! You will be receiving 2 yards of Birch fabric, as well as a $30 gift certificate to The Fabric Stash.

And, for the viewers’ choice award? Suzanne’s FLIP of her Aviator Pants came out on top as the winner.
Congrats, Suzanne! Here is the viewers’ choice button to proudly display on your sidebar as well.
You will be receiving a $20 Fabricworm gift certificate,
as well as a three-pattern pack from Shwin Designs!

A hearty congratulations to both winners!!  Visit both of them today {here and here} to give them some virtual pats on the back, as well as check out other items on their blogs that interest you!
Sad that it is over? There is absolutely, positively no need to be! A new pattern {and a fresh start} will kick off the new year in a week’s time!
