August’s pattern company is one of those “quick to rise” among the sewing community, growing by leaps and bounds since her blogging debut! Of course, we can’t leave it at that …. and give you a little history into our discovery of Straight Grain sewing patterns…
As we began sewing and blogging about our creations, pinterest became THE PLACE to look for sewing inspiration. Well, we started seeing a cute little girl, in amazing clothes, pop up all over pinterest boards we followed faithfully. And, we LOVED every outfit she was wearing!! That led us to investigate further, and lo and behold – we ‘met’ An, the brains behind Straight Grain. She began actively blogging a few months prior to us….and has since begun creating patterns to sell!
Right now, An has two patterns in her shop…..with two more on the way in the very near future! For the month of August, we are asking our readers to “FLIP” the Straight Grain Tinny pattern.
While it could be considered a ‘blank slate’ for the “sewing artiste”, we think it may prove more difficult than one might originally think. You see, An has “flipped” her pattern into much more than a singular pattern: creating 4 collar options, 3 skirt options, and 2 sleeve options…. What more can you do?!?!?! Oh, we’re sure your creative minds will blow us away once again!!
We’ve only sewn the Tinny once {for pattern testing purposes}, but hope to complete a second one before the month is out. How much will we flip it?? That’s still up for discussion….
And, since we’re sure you haven’t taken the time to check the available Thursdays for the month of August…..we want to be the first to tell you that there are FOUR!! Translation: there will be FOUR GUEST CONTRIBUTORS for the month of August. Brace yourself!! Four uberly talented ladies, ready to “WOW YOU” with their ‘flipped creations.’

I can’t wait to get started on this but not sure how to “flip” it because I LOVE it as it is!! I like the asymmetrical collar the most. I’m really looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with

I’m thinking of doing this one and may just be missing the huge button on her site but is their a size chart available. My dd is slim but at 5 I want to be sure that the pattern will fit without a lot of fit alterations.
