*insert audible gasp*
Isn’t that the truth! I’ve been thinking about trying drawn thread work for ages, but it’s such a daunting task. Your design turned out absolutely gorgeous, and I can’t wait to see how you incorporate your new skill into future projects! You guys rock!
How sweet, Toni! Thanks!! A hemline would be awesome….but we lacked the skill or time to pull it off this time around :)!
I’d embellish the collar of the Adelaide Vintage Romper if I knew any lost art sewing techniques!
I think it would be fun to embellish the Jackie dress. And your work is beautiful!
I would love to embroider the Jackie dress- that front panel would be perfect for a vertical design.
I’ve got a book that has tutorials for all these embroidery technics but all I have done were some french knots and simple straight line thins…
I have to try this!
I would embellish the Hopscotch Tunic. Love it!
The Evelyn dress and swing top
I don’t think I have the patience for that type of work but it is beautiful.
I’d like to give hand embroidery a try … perhaps on Amy’s Jack and Jill Shortalls.
Thanks everyone!! Hope you are inspired to attempt this lost art…. The pulling of threads was therapeutic at times; the tying off gave us fits for a while.
As I commented on FB, so glad you didn’t block me so I could see your rogue stitching. Great job!
It was all in jest….:)! Thanks for helping us out!
This is just amazing… I haven’t seen much drawn-thread work before, but as is usual when I see something you two make, now I really want to try it! Beautiful dress. =)
Thanks, Charity! We’d love to see your creation if you attempt this lost art :)…
