Doesn’t this fabric remind you of a fiesta??
Maybe it is just us . . . but the colors of the stripes seemed to scream: P.A.R.T.Y!
As we worked toward purging some of our fabric stash, this fabric kept surfacing as a fabric needing to be used. And, while we love stripes, this fabric gave us difficulty when trying to match it to a pattern.
Since we were unsure if we would like the outcome, we didn’t want to invest too much time into the outfit.
We sewed a size 7 Children’s Corner, Frannie with an additional 1.5″ added to the hem length.
We hadn’t sewn this pattern since EA was a baby, and THAT garment has gone through all of our nieces and sold at a consignment sale.
So, we thought this pattern would be a good one to revisit for EA.
Again, this was an easy sew! We sewed the optional elastic casing under the arms, instead of ribbon ties, and were pleased with that decision.
EA liked the elastic element soooo much, she wanted to make sure everyone else could appreciate it too!
The next time we sew the dress, we plan to take some width out of the pattern. We want it to still be “flowy”, but not quite to the amount it was for this dress.
