WHAT??? Still need convincing??
WELL!! You are one tough case to crack!!!
We’ve said it before, but since the Butterfly Blouse and Skirt is such a super-duper, easy-peasy sew…..we’ve gone and sewn it again!
And, this time, we are sharing our favorite of favorites {for now, at least}!!
We like to say that we channeled our “inner Craftiness is Not Optional” for this creation.
Maybe it’s the colors.
Maybe it’s the style.
Or, maybe it’s just us being delusional.
As for the specs?
Blouse: View A {angel sleeves}, sewn as a size 4, with added length
*Only {slight} modification was to use an elastic loop for keyhole closure, instead of the thread chain.
Skirt: sewn as a size 2T, with no adjustments or modifications
As stated in previous posts about the Butterfly Blouse and Skirt {here and here}, we are FIRM BELIEVERS in hip measurements. Our ah-ha {probably should be more of a DUH} moment is realizing although a child might wear a particular size in DRESSES, it doesn’t mean she will wear the same size in SKIRTS! Ā Like we stated – DUH!!
EA has just moved up to the Oliver + S, size 4 dresses….with a little growing room, and sometimes with a little length added. However, many times, it’s the chest measurement that is most important….not hips!
Still, if you don’t believe us….and sew an incorrect size {been there, done that}….GOOD NEWS FOR YOU! You can sew a replacement skirt in one evening!! SOOOO FAST!! AND ADDICTIVE!! Consider yourselves warned…
We’ve stopped the madness for now {after 12 butterfly pieces sewn – 7 skirts and 5 blouses}, and have moved on to Easter dress sewing.
Yes, we know.
Easter has come and gone.
Yet, we are still sewing…
Good thing “Sister Momma” believes in “Easter dresses” year round :).
So cute! I was only going to buy the Parachute pattern but after seeing all your lovely Butterfly tops and skirts, I swapped patterns. My little girls are so much more in to skirts and tops vs. dresses these days. I hope I get the chance to make as many as you did!;)
You could sew these skirts with your eyes closed….over and over and over again! While your end of the year numbers are always impressive, this would put you over the top!
Gorgeous set, as always!
This set is my favorite too! And it does have a bit of a Craftiness is Not Optional vibe to it! Very cute. =)
Wow, that must average out to about one garment an hour since the pattern was released! (I’m guessing you got a head start though š )
Another lovely outfit
Yes…we thankfully had a bit of a head start :)! And while we’ve never been known for our speed, it is really saying something on how quick of a sew the skirt is…
