Our Franklin Dress … and Giveaway Winners Announced

First things first….The Franklin Dress pattern giveaway!!!

CONGRATULATIONS, Katy and Mary!! You’ve just won yourself a Franklin Dress pattern!! We hope you love it as much as we do.

Brooklyn Pattern Co., Franklin Dress

Speaking of which…WE SEWED IT!!!

UNflipped….because when you run the series, well…you can make your own rules!

Brooklyn Pattern Co., Franklin Dress

Our niece had asked for a “yellow dress”, and we were given “creative expression” from Sister Momma {since “yellow isn’t really her color”, as quoted by her}.

Thus, the “yellow FLOWER dress” was created! We bought the fabric HERE, but when we recently returned – it wasn’t there anymore. However, all is not lost!! One of our “Flip this Pattern” sponsors, Urban Sew, has some ON SALE!!

Brooklyn Pattern Co., Franklin Dress

This dress has been a hit! It is perfect for preschool, playground, and church…

Who doesn’t love a functional dress?? And, since dresses are what our niece enjoys wearing, well….it worked to our advantage!

Brooklyn Pattern Co., Franklin Dress

There was enough yellow in the dress to “win her over.”

And, any dress with pockets earns BIG BONUS POINTS in her mind!!

We sewed a 3T for EA {age: 4 1/2}, while adding some length.

The only other change was to add some piping between the yoke and skirt portion of the dress.

Brooklyn Pattern Co., Franklin Dress

The small tucks on the yoke give this pattern some subtle sweetness – yet, don’t create a challenge in the sewing aspect of the dress.

While we are looking forward to seeing {and showcasing} the FLIPS later in the month, we don’t envy the competitors in the least!!

Brooklyn Pattern Co., Franklin Dress

So, if you are like us, and just want a cute, sweet, functional pattern to add to your sewing collection – make sure you grab yours at a 20% discount before the code {SPRINGFLIP} expires on Wednesday!!

Brooklyn Pattern Co., Franklin Dress

And, if you do happen to FLIP this PATTERN, please link up in our linky party – there’s a pretty awesome prize waiting to be won there as well!

We would JUMP FOR JOY to see your creation!!

The “yellow” dress turned out beautifully! The piping was the perfect addition and really makes the yoke bodice and pleats more noticeable. You can tell EA really loves it!

Seriously adorable!
Love love this version (the last picture is gorgeous) – obviously I can also see lots of yellow in the dress 😉
You did excel with your “creative expression” :)

EA is becoming more and more opinionated….yet, can still be persuaded to “see” things differently at times!

That’s a perfectly sweet dress! I love the piping and the contrasting thread for the buttons. It looks like a wonderful ‘yellow’ dress to me. =)
