The time has come to “Meet the Competitors” for the month of April.
It all began with the Brooklyn Pattern Company, Franklin Dress … and then, the FLIPPING began!
First, as an introduction by Ana Sofia {S is for Sewing} with her “flipped version” of the Franklin Dress...
And, this week will be all about the competitors! And, prizes!!
These ladies have been chomping at the bit to show you their “Flipped Creations”….and they are ready to knock your sewing socks off…..trust us! But first, a little introduction of each is in order {introduced in the order of their “Flipped Appearance” for the upcoming week}!
Kerry {Sutures and Sandpaper}
Hi, I’m Kerry, I blog over at Sutures & Sandpaper. My blog is where I share the little things I have sewn for my kids. I blog with my sister, Linda, who shares all kinds of crafty projects and especially likes to make awesome things with wood. Life gets pretty busy and so we don’t blog nearly as often as we would like to.
I am a wife, a mum to three little people, a doctor and a self confessed craft addict. Sewing fills any spare time I find of late, but I also love knitting, crocheting, photography, papercraft…anything crafty. I love to tweak patterns to fit my need, so I feel at home sewing along with the Flip This Pattern series.
Kim {Kimmie Sew Crazy}
Hi! I am Kim. I blog over at Kimmie Sew Crazy. Sewing is most certainly my passion. I love it!!! Sometimes I think a little too much. I would have to say absolutely zero of my local friends get it (the whole sewing thing), but I would bet you do. You know since you are reading this: ). That is what I love about this wonderful sewing community. Making really, really great friends that love this sewing thing too, and they totally get it! I live in Minnesota where it’s cold too often. I am a mom to three boys that won’t stop growing and one little baby girl that is already two. She is the main recipient to my sewing addiction. My husband and I also run a little business out of our garage and furnace room (yep, that is where I sew). He builds some amazing furniture and I sometimes sew something to sell. It is completely a mess of a bazillion different things. But we have fun. You can find it here, in our Etsy shop. I must say I could not be any more excited to be part of this competition, but I say some of that on my post. So I do not want to repeat myself too much : ). I have been following the Flip This Pattern series from the beginning and am so excited for Tuesday :).
Olga {Kid Approved}
I am Olga, mother of four children, a former high school teacher and an expat from Ukraine. I blog at Kid Approved, where I share my love of sewing and creating. I learned to sew in high school where we were required to draft and sew a night gown and a pair of underpants. Both were made out of woven fabric since knit was not readily available in the Soviet Union. The results were not pretty. My real love for sewing began with the arrival of Burda Style magazine in the late 1980s. I am pretty sure if I dig through my mother’s fabric stash I would find a few unfinished projects of mine. I rediscovered my passion for sewing and creating a few years ago when my oldest daughter turned two.
Jo {Dotta}
I’m Jo, and I blog at Dotta. Apparently I’m an event organizer living in Italy, but in reality I’m an undercover self-taught seamstress who would only sew and knit the whole day. I started sewing almost four years ago after the birth of my lovely daughter, and now I’m kind of addicted to it. I love simple designs with that little something that makes them special, bright but not-too-bright colors, and organic fabrics.
Each “flipped creation” will be showcased here….Monday through Thursday of THIS WEEK {one competitor per day}. Then, on Friday, May 1, you will have the opportunity to vote for your favorite of the four creations!!
*Please note: The Sew-Along closes on Thursday, April 30 at 11:00 PM CST, and there is an awesome prize package for the winner of it as well!
Winners {Competitor and Sew-Along} will be announced the following Monday!
Oh, I can’t wait to see their flips!
So many talented ladies 😉
