What happens when you have a post ready to release, yet you lack a title for it?
You release it anyway….
Title Schmitle!
There were some “good” ones thrown out, but then they were just that – THROWN OUT!
I mean, seriously….how could one choose amongst such awesomeness?!?!?
But enough about our “Title Woes”….how about the post that was done?
Well….
Someone else was due another Bimaa of her own as winter approached.
And, once big sister received hers….well, it was all hands on deck to sew another for CL!
When a little recipient responds so favorably to her 1st Bimaa, it’s hard NOT to sew another.
CL loved the latest addition as well.
It proved to be a terrific shirt for explorations.
And swinging.
And bark replacement on the trees.
We used fabric bought from one of Girl Charlee’s Bargain Lots – both the main portion of the Bimaa, as well as the cowl neck fabric, were fabrics bought in one of these bundles.
Now, maybe we should veer into sewing another Bimaa view — and use the shawl or hood portion of the pattern! But, it’s sooooooo hard to refuse the cowl version.
Does anyone LOVE the Bimaa shawl or hood better than the cowl?? Please comment, and if you blog, include a link to your creation – we’d love to see it and be inspired / encouraged to branch out from the cowl…
Oh, she is such a cutie!
And, yes, I love the hoodie way more. However, I’m more of a casual, sporty person so the hoodie comes more natural to me. I’m not sure that it’s your style, though…
It’s funny. I personally LOVE wearing hoodies…but, you’re right…that style isn’t what we typically sew for the girls!! We may have to try it out…
She is so sweet! I love the cowl myself, but my girls would never wear it. My daughter loves the shawl collar, though. I haven’t tried a hoodie yet. Maybe for KCW? I need to get planning!
It’s hard to believe KCW is upon us, isn’t it? I’m drawn to all the versions of the Bimaa, yet we’ve only sewn the cowl. Maybe it’s time to branch out…
I’ve made two cowl and one hoodie of the Bimaa. Ella loves them all, but the hoodie is a little more challenging and takes a lot more fabric! This one is perfect. I love the mix of fabrics. In fact, the lace cowl looks like an infinity scarf that she could take off!
Good to know about the hood fabric requirements!! A Bimaa was all we could think of to make with the lighter-weight white fabric.
The shirt looks adorable on her! But I suspect that anything she put on would look adorable. She seems like such a mellow, good natured little girl. She is a charmer!
You’re very perceptive. Yes, she is typically very mellow / good natured!! What gets us is how funny she is {to us}…and she doesn’t even realize it {which of course makes it funnier}.
The cowl Bimaa is my favorite, even though I’ve never made one (yet! I have a plan!) Here is the shawl collar version we made: http://skirtfixation.com/2014/11/betty-skirt-fall/
Here is the hoodie version we made: http://skirtfixation.com/2014/11/add-woven-lining-hood-bimaa-sweater/ And this post has a tutorial on how you can use a woven fabric for the lining…just to feed your woven fabric love!
These are both GREAT! Thanks for linking your Bimaa creations!!
I’ve got a hoodie cut and ready to see right now!! I’ve made the cowl and shawl collar versions, and Eliza loved both. Her shawl collar one is still the first shirt she reaches for.
The hooded version is for her brother, so she may be jealous. 😉
I LOVE this shirt!!! That little belly slays me! And those pink cheeks!! So much sweet goodness — squishy preciousness. Perfect.
She’s definitely got the belly and pink cheeks!! Although the belly is diminishing rapidly :(…. We still laugh at her PR&P Bimaa “belly picture”. You make us want to sew the shawl collar one now…
CL is such a darling! Those little round bellies get me every time. =)
I don’t have a favorite in the Bimaa options… I like all of them! I should probably just buy the pattern already… 😉
I think it is well worth it….3 options, and now with the extension of size range…makes it a pattern one will sew over and over and over again!
I love this version of the Bimaa! (But I pretty much love all of the bimaas I see in the blogosphere.) Here’s my version with a hood. http://www.slightlysleepdeprived.blogspot.com/2014/12/2015-sewing-goals-and-2014-recap.html
I’m so glad you linked up your striped Bimaa!!! And, I’m right there with you in loving all the Bimaas in the blogosphere :).
the cutest!!!!
Ha we love (or I love) the cowl neck version too. I haven’t tried any others either. I love your no title post too. I’m new to blogging and have this problem already often! Love you blog!
I just finished my first cowl version, and I love it!! My daughter was pulling at it when I tried it on her, so I’m hoping she’ll get used to it!
