November “Flip this Pattern”: Competitors

The time has come to “Meet the Competitors” for the month of November.

FlipthisPatternFall14240px

It all began with the Dear My Kids, Trendy Unisex Pea Coat … and then, the FLIPPING began!

First, as an introduction by Suzanne {Winter Wonderings} with her Trendy Unisex Pea Coat...

And, this week will be all about the competitors! And, prizes!!

Flip-this-Pattern-NOV-Prizes

These ladies have been chomping at the bit to show you their “Flipped Creations”….and they are ready to knock your sewing socks off…..trust us! But first, a little introduction of each is in order {introduced in the order of their “Flipped Appearance” for the upcoming week}!

Laura {Behind the Hedgerow}

Bio photo circle

If I had to sum up my style of sewing in 8 words they would be: beauty, function, colour, texture, classic lines, modern design, small subtle details, and clean finishes. If you allowed me more than 8 words I would tell you that my name is Laura and I’m the obsessional sewist from the blog Behind the Hedgerow. I sewed my first dress 4 years ago and I haven’t looked back since. I mainly sew clothing for myself and my three young children (with a few accessories, toys and home furnishings thrown in to keep things interesting).   I live the middle of the English countryside, literally behind a hedgerow!, and I’m never happier than when in my sewing studio, fire roaring, music playing and a new sewing challenge in front of me!

An {StraightGrain}

Hi everyone! My name is An, and I blog over at StraightGrain. I’m a part time university lecturer, and part-time pattern designer from Belgium. But most of all, I’m a mom to two amazing kids, Norah (almost 5) and Ava (just turned one). I started sewing a good three years ago, so I could make pretty things for Norah, who was 1 at the time. I soon started studying pattern design as well, and ever since, sewing and pattern design have been constantly on my mind. I love minimalist designs with a special detail or an interesting color combination, mustard yellow, double gauze, and peter pan collars. I hope you’ll enjoy this leg of Flip This Pattern!

Angie {Edith and Eloise}

AngiePhoto

Hi, I’m Angie! I love sewing (obviously…haha) and all things crafty. I live in rural Oregon with my husband and two kids. My days are usually spent relaxing with my family, perusing Pinterest for delicious recipes, and sewing new and unique pieces for my kids closets.

Chelise {Chelise Patterson}

Hey everyone! I’m Chelise. I started out years ago with an Etsy shop that I started because I love designing clothes, especially for my daughter. I grew to learn though that my real passion is just in the designing, making a one-of-a-kind piece, and seeing my kids love and wear it. Not so much sewing the same item over and over and over again for a shop. You won’t find me much in the shop anymore (except for some big swimsuit plans I have for spring!) but you can find me at my blog every so often sharing my creations. I’m not the most dedicated blogger you’ll find, but I love doing it solely for the wonderful sewing community I get to be a part of and for the kindred sewing “friends” I’ve made. I cannot wait to show you my FLIP of the pea coat! It’s going live Thanksgiving day and you should definitely pause from your turkey eating and football watching to check it out!

*****************************************************************************************************

Each “flipped creation” will be showcased here….Monday through Thursday of THIS WEEK {one competitor per day…..and, yes, even on Thanksgiving Day!}. Then, on Friday, November 28, you will have the opportunity to vote for your favorite of the four creations!!

*Please note: The Sew-Along closes on Thursday, November 27 {ie: Thanksgiving!} at 11:00 PM CST, and there is an awesome prize package for the winner of it as well!

Winners {Competitor and Sew-Along} will be announced the following Monday!
