Life is full of surprises….and we were thrown a big one earlier this month!! The newest member of the family decided to make her grand appearance two weeks early. And shocked us all!! But, when you’re ready, you’re ready….
Weighing in at 7 lb, 6 oz. and measuring 21 inches in length.
Born with a head full of hair {at least by our family’s standards….EA and CL were born almost bald, as were the three of us}!! So, we might have been a bit obsessed with “capturing” all that hair for posterity’s sake!
She’s a beautiful baby {we KNOW we are biased}, and one that her sisters can’t get enough of…OBVIOUSLY {you’ll see soon enough}.
We had planned to keep the girls one last weekend before “busy season” began for both of us – the beginning of school for Emily and multiple high school football program design/printing for Ashley. But, the phone call that came instead threw us for a loop!! It seemed LG was ready to come, and so we were to pick up the girls as scheduled….but keep them until ???
So, we went to their house….and waited the day. NO BABY.
“Sister Momma” and husband said it looked like it might be a long night, and asked us to take the girls on to our house {an hour away} instead of waiting around for her arrival. We say “HER” because LG didn’t have a name until almost 24 hours after birth!!
Then, SURPRISE!! As we pulled in our driveway, we received the call that it was time for “Sister Momma” to push! So much for a “long night!!” Well, what’s one to do an hour away??? Why help her push “in spirit,” of course!! The girls gave it their all, trying to “will” their baby sister into the world. One word: HILARIOUS!!
Six days later {and LOTS of talking and prepping for the event} the girls met LG, and were completely enamored!!
EA has become quite the “nurturing mother” {as opposed to when CL was born and she cried every single time CL did}.
She absolutely loves to sit and hold her for lengthy periods of time!
CL can’t get enough of her either….but must be watched like a hawk!! She wants to hug, touch, pat, kiss, etc.
She is amazed at her tiny features and wants to be in the middle of her “business!”
LG has been a great baby thus far. She loves to be held, and seems to be a snuggler!!
This week was “scheduled” to be a week of posts to “Celebrate the Baby” on our blog – when we would share creations made for the newest family member. We were ahead of schedule {kind of} to pull it off….but then “aunt duties” called for seven days, and ALL. SEWING. CEASED. Instead, we made some special memories with EA and CL!!
Well, we plan on sharing those memories with you, as well as some creations made for LG….but it will be spaced out over the next couple of weeks {instead of all in one week}. Thankfully, items were cut and ready to sew. Now, to crank up the sewing machine and complete a few of them…but, for now, sleep tight dear little one!!
Congratulations!! How exciting. There’s so much joy radiating from the faces in those photos! Blessings to all of you.

OH congrats to you and your family. What a beautiful family. I totally adore these pictures. The best thing about growing one’s photography skills isn’t to get better garment pics, but being able to capture such wonderful moments/emotions that won’t come back again. Those pics are super beautiful!

I think she belongs to our family with that hair. The big sisters are doing great with her. Mommy will have plenty of help.

WOw! Congratulations! She is beautiful and will be such a blessing to your family–now if I could only channel some of that hair to my babies!! All of mine are bald until at least 2 or 3:)
Thanks, everyone, for those sweet words!! She’s stolen our hearts, and has been a very good / adaptable / sweet child….thus far :)! Looking forward to sewing and sharing some sewn items for her as she grows up….
