With every experience, lessons are learned. And, when lessons are learned, one can use those lessons to create something even better! At least that is our hope….
Last year on our “Blogiversary: Year One”, we decided to celebrate by hosting a year-long series: “Flip this Pattern.” This was ultimately a “selfish sewing series” for us…in an area of weakness {flipping a pattern} that we craved inspiration and guidance from the sewing community. Thus, “Flip this Pattern” was born! And, the response was overwhelming – pattern companies, competitors, and sponsors all jumped on board and made “Year One” a success!
But….enough about the past….how about what’s to come?!?!?!
Here’s the lowdown.
“Flip this Pattern” will now be a seasonal event – with the Summer 2014 introduction set to kick off TOMORROW.
There will be three seasons of “Flip this Pattern” per year, each spanning 3 months. The first month of each season will have a “twist” of some sort. For instance, you…the readers…chose the pattern for the month of June – Zonen 09 Charlie.
At the beginning of each month, a guest {one of the YEAR ONE: Viewers’ Choice Winners} will introduce the pattern for the month, and any giveaways / discounts will be given.
Then, the following day, a sew-along linky party will open for interested participants to link up “flipped creations.”
On the final week of the month, the four competitors will be introduced and each will be given a day to share a “flipped version” of the pattern selected. These posts will be in succession, Monday – Thursday. *Please note: The sew-along will close on Thursday evening of the “Competitor Flip Week.”
Voting will then open on Friday, and run through Saturday evening.
Winners will be announced the following Monday.
We hope you like the changes! We are pretty excited about the new format…and the guest posts….and the patterns….and the competitors….and the prizes. EEEK!!
So, are you just too excited to wait until tomorrow’s release of summer patterns and competitors???
Well, how about a chance to win a “Mystery Box” from us?? All you have to do is guess one of the other two patterns {besides the Zonen 09: Charlie} selected for Flip this Pattern: Summer 2014.
Easy peasy, huh?? Our guess is it will be as easy as it was for us to select ONLY TWO OTHER PATTERNS!! Not very :).
But, since we are kind, here are some hints for you: One pattern has been sewn twice by us {flipped on both occassions} but never sewn “as is”. The other pattern was once a part of a Sew Fab Bundle.
Only two entries per person {and sorry, people privy to the information prior to its release – no entry for you}….all correct entries will be eligible to win the “Mystery Box” that will be selected via Rafflecopter, and announced on tomorrow’s Flip this Pattern: Summer 2014 Introductory Post.
*In the event an entry isn’t made for one of the two patterns {listed with the pattern company}, ALL entries will be entered and eligible to win the “Mystery Box!”
