May “Flip this Pattern”: Competitors and Prizes

April was fun! May’s pattern has been introduced and
a lovely discount code has been given {good through April 30}.
And, now it is time to “meet the competitors” for this month!
The May “Flip this Pattern” competitors have been chomping at the bit to show you their “Flipped Creations”….and they are ready to knock your sewing socks off…..trust us! But first, a little introduction of each is in order {introduced in the order of their upcoming “Flipped Appearance”}! And, yes….before you read on….THERE. ARE. FOUR. OF. THEM.

I’d have to say these people(up there in that picture:)) are the #1 in my life…my kids and my supportive husband—Unlike most in the sewing/blogging world, I don’t have a blog primarily dedicated to sewing. I blog here and there about my kids antics, achievements, adventures and of course, my own sewing experiments. My 5 kids, ages 9 to 15 months, keep me busy at all times of the day (and night!), but I still find (make) time to do some sewing. I started sewing before my first son was born, and have come a long way since then. When I look at some of my first sewing attempts, I have to admit I cringe just a little! Like everything else, there is a learning curve in sewing, and I love pushing the limits and adding new techniques to my skill set. In addition to sewing, I love to cook, experiment with new recipes, garden (sadly, our dog–and her digging– limits that right now!) and hike/camp with my family. I am also a proud BYU and OSU (go Buckeyes!) graduate and have a degree in Veterinary Medicine.

Terra {Mama Says Sew}

I’m Terra and I blog over at mama says sew. I am the stay-at-home Mama to three adorable little stinkers and the wife of a very tolerant supportive husband. I love creating. It’s so rewarding to see something I’ve made on one of my children or in my home. I’m excited to participate in May’s round of Flips!

Lisa {Mommy’s Apron Strings}

Hi! I’m Lisa {seen above at age 4} and I blog at Mommy’s Apron Strings. I have a great family: my hubby of nearly 20 years and 5 great kiddos, Pete (17), Katie (15), Rosie (13), Davy (8) and Andy (3). As you can imagine, they keep me really busy. In my free time, I love to do all kinds of sewing, smocking, embroidery, quilting, knitting, and crochet. If there’s a craft, I’ve probably tried it! I’ve been sewing since I was 10 when I smocked myself a pinafore. I started blogging 3 years ago to share my creations and have found many friends along the way, which has been such a blessing! I am just starting to create my own patterns to share. Some of my other favorite things: babies, yard sales, vintage sewing patterns, the Waltons, reading, photography, Harry Potter, and chocolate cake- but maybe not in that order.

Ana Sofia {S is for Sewing}

Hi! My name is Ana Sofia and you can find me at S is for Sewing. I live with my husband and 3 children (2 boys and 1 girl) in Lisbon, Portugal. While growing up I was not the typical creative kid – my siblings inherited all the creative talent in our family (so I’ve been told) and although my mother knew how to sew (and my late grandmother used to be an accomplished seamstress) I never learned how to sew. Fast forward a few years, I became an Engineer, got married, started my own company and somewhere along the way had 3 amazing kids. Yet, I always felt like I needed a hobby that would allow me to unplug and reconnect with my family at the end of the day. When my youngest child was born, (a girl, lol), I decided to teach myself to sew. Sewing for me is much more than making pretty clothes to wear – I would like to believe we’re creating memories when I sew with and for my children: picking fabrics, choosing patterns, guiding their little hands and just making family life a bit simpler and happier. I started my blog because I wanted a place to share my sewing endeavours – a place where we could return and see the path we made together. As a bonus, somewhere along the way, I was lucky to find a wonderful community of seamstresses, bloggers and artists. It’s been an amazing journey! Thank you Ashley and Emily for inviting me to participate in this amazing series!
