“Flip this Pattern” with the Cottage Mama

May’s pattern company technically doesn’t need an introduction, but since we are never at a loss for words….we’d like to give you a little history into our relationship with Lindsay and The Cottage Mama’s sewing patterns…
You see, in July 2013, we had the opportunity to meet Lindsay – in person, people!!  She was teaching at the Martha Pullen School of Fashion, and a group of bloggers/sewing fanatics decided to meet up one night to talk, talk, talk {and eat, of course}. We think we can speak for the group – it was awesome!! All the ladies in attendance are not only phenomenal sewists, but also remarkable, genuine ladies — eager to share with one another about their sewing journey and passion.
The summation of the evening: talking, shopping, talking, eating, and talking, talking, talking some more!!! You get the picture???

The event was repeated this past February with a few of us when Lindsay returned for the winter session of the Martha Pullen School of Fashion.

We don’t know about you, but firsts are so much easier to remember…..That said, Lindsay’s “Summer Pattern Blog Tour” was the first we had ever been invited to be a part of, and she is the first “Flip this Pattern” designer we’ve actually met in person!

While some “Flip this Pattern” designers were selected “sight unsewn” {by view alone}, we were familiar with Lindsay’s patterns prior to the series introduction. Some of the favorite Cottage Mama patterns we’ve sewn include:
Janey Jumper {read about our creation here}
Daphne Wrap Dress and Skip and Play Capris {read about our creation here}
Shortcake Reversible Romper {pre-blogging days}
When we decided to have the “Flip this Pattern” series, it was a no-brainer that we would include a Cottage Mama pattern in the mix. Deciding which one proved to be the most difficult. In the end, we opted to go with one we’ve yet to sew: The Run-Around Romper.

Oh, and yes….we PLAN to sew-along with you all….getting in on the action from the sidelines!!

What better month to join than the last one?!?! And….writing this might just keep us accountable!

If you need a little help in getting those creative juices going, you can always visit the “Flip this Pattern” Pinterest Board as you look for inspiration to strike. *Please note: if you would like to pin ‘flippable’ inspiration on this board, please send us an email at francessuzanne2{at}gmail{dot}com to request permission to pin.

And, how about a discount code to grab your own pattern to sew-along with us?? Visit the Cottage Mama Etsy Shop, and purchase a digital OR paper version of the Run-Around Romper this week! From now, until Wednesday, April 30, you may enter the discount code “FLIP20″ at the checkout to receive 20% off this pattern.

***********************************************************

If that isn’t a sweet enough deal, Lindsay has made it even sweeter by offering 20% off all paper and digital patterns {discount code: FLIP20} in her etsy store through April 30. So….go wild…..purchase LOTS of Cottage Mama Patterns!! We’ve had our eye on a couple, and this is just the excuse needed to purchase them! **PLEASE NOTE: The discount is only available through the Cottage Mama Etsy Store. Paper patterns do apply, but will not be available for shipping until the following Monday {April 28}.

***********************************************************

The sew-along will begin on Wednesday, April 30 and remain open until Thursday, May 22 at 11:00 PM CST.

Do you have a favorite Cottage Mama pattern? We’d love to hear what is your “go-to Cottage Mama pattern“….or, if you’ve never sewn one, what would be your ‘go-to Cottage Mama pattern’ if you had to choose!

Its a Cottage Mama Pattern?!!! then I want to play Flip this Pattern… but I don’t understand what that means… I see the beautiful inspirations, but I don’t know what this means. Where is the best place to get an explanation? :)
