Ahhh- this is beautiful. I am loving the colors as well as the choice of fabric.great job!
Thank you, Carin!
So precious!
I was about this close to get this pattern yesterday (and I don’t even have a baby to sew for) and now I’m considering it again – It’s lovely and I reckon this style will be pretty timeless!
Oh yes, I love your mods – the additional bias and piping are such unique details
Ohhh. . .you must buy it Ana Sofia! It is definitely timeless and has so many options! Can’t you just see it in Liberty?
This outfit looks so lovely and soooo comfortable! I’d wear something like that:) Impeccable as always and glad to see you “back in the saddle” again!
Thank you, Sally. . it REALLY is good to be back!
Very sweet!!! Adorable child and outfit.
Could you please tell me, do you think there is ample room for cloth diapering as is, or would I need to make adjustments? TIA
While we don’t have any experience with cloth diapers, my gut says there is ample room for them. We sewed our niece the 12-18 month size (she’s 20 months) and the fit is very generous. I’ll be interested to hear how it works, because I know this has been a hot topic of discussion on the forum!
Thank you!
So glad that you two have reviewed this new pattern. I love your honest – not to say, brutal – approach to the whole business of sewing/reading patterns/instructions, and your review is encouraging. I’m very much looking forward to working with the Lullaby; previous attempts at ‘baby’ clothes have been rather hit and miss because commercial patterns can be very complicated, and ‘Book’ patterns too general. Thank you AWKs. This pattern is very timely for you, isn’t it?
Fionna – you’ll LOVE the pattern! Trust us this one is going to be a HIT {not a miss} for you. . .the directions are very thorough and are true to oliver +s ‘form’, giving you professional looking garments in the end! Yes, very timely is exactly right – we are looking forward to sewing up the other two pieces soon!
An absolutely gorgeous outfit, Frances Suzanne style!! Love the design elements that you added to it. Your attention to details is one of the things that I love about your clothing. Love the review of the pattern too. It’s always a joy to visit your blog. Can’t wait to hear about the newest addition. – Christine
Thanks Christine!! We are anxious to know about the latest addition as well :)….
You’ve done a great service to the pattern with your sewing! Gorgeous outfit and lovely photos.
I have no babies to sew for but those placket instructions have me intrigued. I’ll probably have to have this pattern after all.
While we’ve not sewn ALL the Oliver and S patterns, this placket was definitely different than any we had sewn previously…..it was a neat construction concept!! There are always baby gifts that you could use this pattern for :)….
super sweet! i love this in shot cotton, and the piping is such a nice touch. and another baby to sew for, how exciting!!
Ooooh, thanks Gail! We always love to see your inspirational sewing using O+S patterns….. And, yes – yes – yes….we are thrilled about another one to sew for….
Oh well done, its so lovely.
Do you think one could use buttons instead of poppers? I really don’t like poppers.
Absolutely, Nicole!! We used small buttons on the placket {instead of snaps} with no change to the pattern pieces. I think it would depend on personal preference, and possibly the age of the child??
