Signature Style {PR&P season 7, week 4, PART I}

FRANCES SUZANNE’S SIGNATURE STYLE:
While always up for discussion, our signature style looks something like this:

Solid colors, piping, a vintage flair, collars, pleats, tucks, hand embroidery….
sometimes all of these characteristics, sometimes just a few.

Probably the only thing missing in this outfit was some hand embroidery,
and since we’ve been on a hiatus from that this season of PR&P, why throw it in now???
Were we pleased with the results?? YOU BET!
It was as we envisioned it {eventually}…..and the ‘fit’ / style on the niece
definitely captured a vintage feel!!
We began with the Tinny Dress {straight grain}, but “FLIPPED” it to classify it as our signature style?
1. Lengthened the bodice area by 3 inches, straightening the waistline to eliminate the curve.

2. Straightened the side seams, eliminating the angle and making the sides perpendicular to the waistline.
3. Shortened the sleeves by 1/2 inch.
4. Split the front bodice piece into 3 pieces, and added piping between the sections (*accounting for seam allowances). We lined up the piping to continue the lines of the open collar of An’s original pattern.
5. Added faux buttons along the front of the bodice.
6. Shortened the pleated skirt portion by 4 inches.

As for CL?? Yes….she, too will have a signature style {check it out here}, and you’ll be able to see it in less than twenty-four hours….And while the outfits are different, there are commonalities that run throughout each! Hopefully, classifying as a ‘signature style’ that does indeed define us!!
As for EA? She’ll leave you with a moving rendition of “Jesus Loves Me”, as sung during our photo shoot….not once, but twice!

We thought it summed us up too!!! The amazing thing is how long it takes us to decide on any fabric combination….solids included (you know!!)….

Predictably consistent….:). CL’s look branched somewhat….but, close enough to fitting our ‘mold.’
