August “Flip this Pattern”: WINNERS ANNOUNCED

We must ask, “are we having fun yet?!?!”
“Flip this Pattern, Month Three” is in the books…..and, boy, oh boy, it didn’t disappoint!
Four fantastic guest contributors {Hayley, Ana Sofia, Mie, and Heidi} and 40+ sew-along creations whet our appetites for the endless possibilities for sewing the Straight Grain, Tinny Dress.
We asked; you answered. And, according to us – we are indeed having fun….and LOTS of it!

Wow, at the inspiration popping up all over the blogging community!!
Our dad labored through the sew-along entries {stating it took him over two hours to complete the process}, and submitted his “Fantastic Five” of the month {thank you all for entertaining him through this series}:

Deux Souriceaux  |  do guincho
Mama Says Sew  |  Cici & Bubba  |  Lollipop Garden Crafts

“Father’s Fantastic Five” was in no way associated to the actual sew-along judging… these ladies have the glory of being one of our dad’s favorites! If you were selected as one of his favorites for the month, feel free to display the “Father’s Fantastic Five” sidebar button proudly on your site….well done!!
As for the other winners?!?! Participating bloggers in the sew-along entries didn’t make it easy for the judges!!  In fact, THREE ENTRIES were separated by a ONE POINT differential. To say it was a “tight race” would be an understatement….
We asked our panel of judges to judge these entries based on the following factors:
Creativity / Originality of Design
Quality of the garment sewn
Wearability
Overall appeal of the outfit
*Many participants included tutorials for their “flip,” but again – this wasn’t a prerequisite for entering. VERY HELPFUL {and generous of them}, but not a necessity!
The sew-along winner was Pienkel with her Spiral Tinny.

The judges stated:

*I thought the skirt on this was very pretty, and made for a very unique version of the dress!
*That double layered spiral skirt is so awesome! So well executed.

*The dress is gorgeous and amazing!
Congratulations, Pienkel! Grab your button, and display it proudly on your site! You will be receiving FOUR patterns from An, of Straight-Grain {3 released, and 1 yet-to-be-released}, a mystery fabric pack from An, a $20 gift certificate to Fabricworm, and 1/2 yard fabric from Laughing House Fabrics {excluding Birch and Cloud 9}. Enjoy your spoils!! You earned it….

And, for the viewers’ choice award? Heidi’s FLIP of her Peplum Tinny Jacket came out on top as the winner.
Congrats, Heidi! Here is the viewers’ choice button to proudly display on your sidebar as well.
You will be receiving a $25 gift certificate from zip-it, 2 yards of Birch fabric, a lifetime supply of Straight-Grain patterns, and 1 yard of fabric from Laughing House Fabrics {excluding Birch and Cloud 9}!

A hearty congratulations to both winners!!  Visit both of them today {here and here} to give them some virtual pats on the back, as well as check out other items on their blogs that interest you!
Sad that it is over? There is absolutely, positively no need to be! We’re only 1/4 of the way through the series.  And, for you non-mathematicians, that’s only 25% of awesomeness said and done!

I am so happy for the winners. Nienke’s dress was pretty much mind blowing. I’m not sure that I’ll be sewing along next month (though I SO want to!). Baby boy and I will be watching closely and predicting winners, though!
